This 21 hour (including 2 ethics hours) course addresses the BCC core competencies by focusing on EI assessment and coaching approaches for individuals, businesses and organizations and the GCDF core competencies for career facilitators by focusing on assessment, helping skills, and career development approaches and techniques. Coaches and career facilitators should purchase and read the required text by Daniel Goleman. You’ll learn how to help clients avoid self-sabotaging outcomes by altering how they perceive and respond to emotionally-charged situations and how to help clients improve their ability to resolve conflict constructively, create a productive work environment, build and mend relationships, and bounce back from setbacks. Learning is achieved by: (1) Reading the required text Emotional Intelligence: Why it can matter more than IQ, (2) video training (3) additional resource materials, and (4) an interactive discussion forum. Students have an unlimited number of attempts to complete the online multiple choice exam with a score of 70% or better in order to facilitate learning, successfully pass this course and receive a certificate of completion.
